Not far away from the distillery, there is a shop with goods from Sicily. That's the place where you can buy artichokes, Tropea onion, arancini or the best salami you've ever had. And of course, oranges. You can also have a glass of fresh orange juice in the morning, on your way to work. Organic, of course. I asked the owner one day, what is he doing with the peels, once he squeezes out the juice. He said he was throwing them away. We are collecting all his peels ever since. We macerate them in neutral alcohol and we distill them after three months. The fresh spirit goes into a used cask for one year. Once matured, we sweeten it with honey. Just a little.
